Tennis

Tennis is a racquet sport played either individually (singles) or by teams of two (doubles). The game is played on a rectangular court divided by a net, with players using a racquet to hit a felt-covered rubber ball over the net into the opponent’s side of the court. Points are scored when a player fails to return the ball within the designated court boundaries. The objective is to win points by making the ball land in the opponent’s court in a way that they cannot successfully return it. Tennis is governed by a set of rules known as the “Laws of Tennis,” which includes scoring systems and regulations regarding equipment and court dimensions. The sport has a rich history and is played at various levels, including recreational, competitive, and professional. Major international tournaments, such as the Grand Slam events (e.g., Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open), highlight its global popularity and prestige.
