Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams, each consisting of nine players. The game is played on a field with four bases arranged in a diamond shape. The objective is for one team, known as the batting team, to score runs by hitting a ball thrown by the opposing team’s pitcher and then running around the bases to return to home plate. The other team, known as the fielding team, aims to prevent runs from scoring by getting batters out through various methods, including catching a batted ball before it touches the ground, striking out a batter, or tagging a runner while they are not on a base.

The game is divided into nine innings, with each team having a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning. Runs are scored when a player successfully moves around all four bases and returns to home plate. Baseball is known for its rich history, cultural significance, and the celebration of statistics and strategy. It is a widely popular sport in countries like the United States, Japan, and many Latin American nations.
