Fotbal

Fotbal, known as soccer in many countries, is a team sport played between two teams consisting of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. It is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players mainly use their feet to maneuver the ball, though they can use any part of their body except their arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within their penalty area.

The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Matches are typically played in two halves of 45 minutes each, with additional time added for stoppages. The team that scores more goals by the end of the match wins. If the match ends in a tie in certain competitions, extra time or a penalty shootout may be used to determine a winner.

Fotbal is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of fans and players, and it is governed internationally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). It has a rich history and a significant cultural impact across different societies.
