Basketball

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by shooting a ball through the opposing team’s hoop, which is mounted at a height of 10 feet (3.05 meters) above the floor. The game is played on a rectangular court, with a hoop at each end, and involves various skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing. Points are scored by making field goals, which are worth two or three points depending on the distance from the hoop, and free throws, which are worth one point. The sport is governed by official rules and is played at both amateur and professional levels, with the National Basketball Association (NBA) being one of the most prominent professional leagues globally. Basketball emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and athleticism, and is one of the major sports played worldwide.
